Islamic Factions Divide In British Jail
A "potentially explosive" dispute between Muslim factions inside Wandsworth prison has been revealed by an independent watchdog.Oh the horror. The Muslim prisoners have to walk through the Chapel of the "unclean" Christians, "exacerbating tensions". Well, what else to do but turn the chapel into a Mosque. Wouldn't want to upset any ROP'ers.
The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) published a report last week detailing a "schism" that had emerged in the prison between Asian Muslims and those from North Africa and Afro-Caribbean areas.
A particular imam was said to have caused deep division among the prison's 265 Muslim prisoners and there was a warning that some inmates were pressuring others to adopt "more militant lifestyles and belief systems".
IMB chairman David Jamieson said the dispute centred on the interpretation of the Koran.
He said: "The situation is volatile but is being resolved. It concerns the way the Koran is interpreted within the Sunni Muslim sect."
The report, which reflected the fears of the Prison Officers Association that there was no national strategy to tackle the radicalisation of young Muslims in prisons, continued: "We are concerned that unless sensitively managed, this issue could become even more emotional and potentially explosive."
A Prison Service spokesman said the imam referred to in the report, which covered July 2005 to June 2006, has since been replaced and added that "any signs of radicalisation at the prison are firmly dealt with by a pro-active chaplaincy team."
But the report also highlighted the inadequate prayer facilities inside Britain's largest jail, which houses 1,451 prisoners.
Currently Muslims have to walk through the Christian chapel to reach their place of worship, "exacerbating at times inherent tension".
The facilities are struggling to cope with a recent surge in Muslim inmates at the prison, which is home to 73 different nationalities.
More than 200 people are thought to regularly attend Friday prayers in the sports hall, while 240 took part in the recent Eid meal.
As a solution, the prison plans to spend £20,000 converting the Anglican chapel into a mosque and then opening up the Catholic chapel to all of the prison's Christians.
The report also mirrored recent Home Office research, suggesting many prisoners use religious services as a venue for dealing in drugs and illegal mobile phones.
Mr Jamieson said a "major influx" of drugs and phones were "slipping through the net", while the use of dogs to detect drugs was almost non-existent.
However, his call to introduce jamming of mobile phones throughout the prison is unlikely to happen soon, because the Prison Service has been unable to find a solution that only effects the prison and not motorists travelling past.

I have got to the point where I don't even give a dam. Why don't they put them all in the prison yard give them a set of knives and let them fight it out, not only that sell coverage to the television, a bit like match of the day. I would certainly watch it just out of morbid curriosity. It would certainly benefit the country it would
(1) rid the country of unwanted garbage
(2)show the British public what animals Islamist a
(3)Help pay for the prison sevice.
By the way have the prison service ever tried taking their mobile phones

Loved the irony by the way, I tend to go in for full blooded sarcasm. While reading the article I was reminded of a Giles cartoon from his first album, his war Album where he has the British Commandant of a German P.O.W. Camp addressing the German prisoners and saying “ I say you fellows if you don't stop digging tunnels, I will be forced to take away your shovels” it was funny then but not now. I have reached the point though where I have had enough, perhaps a little bit earlier than most of my fellow aboriginal, but I have had enough of these people. They can worship as far as I am concerned, who the hell they f@@king like, they can believe that the moon is made of green cheese as far as I am concerned, as long as they don't try to force there beliefs down ones throat especially if they believe, their beliefs gives them the right to kill one if I you do not conform. If they persist in demanding this supremacy right then I think that the Government of the day should contain them in a place where they cannot do any effective damage to society. If the Government will not protect the populous then the populous have a legal and moral right to protect themselves, with what ever means they think fit, I personally think that things are getting that bad that the present British Government is rapidly losing the trust of the Aboriginal population, and in a few year we will see a Civil war with distinct religious overtones. Something which by the way I a bore and would not like to see come to pass. If it does then the Government will have to take the blame and the consequences.
What I am asking for is not just sentencing for a crime but also internment. From what I gather it costs the British Taxpayer 2,000 pounds per week to keep a prisoner in prison this is mainly supervision cost. What we should do is let them supervise themselves. St Kilda off the Scottish Coast, South Georgia in the Antarctic is another. Converted container placed on these Island each accommodating two prisoner would be very cheap. A small Garrison with a suitable defences, a small hospital, a store for compo rations. If you want to keep warm dig peat for the cheap pot bellied in the container. The rest is up to them, you want a mosque, build it yourself, no money, sorry that is your problem. A good solid dose of reality would quickly bring people to there senses. I wouldn't even install electric lights para fine lamps or coal oil lamps were good enough for out great grandparents why shouldn't they not be good enough for these people, why not candles. If the Islamic countries complain all you have to say is OK take them after their sentence is complete, and by the way most of the people living in your country are living at a lower level and these people these get at least everything free, your lot have to work for it.

Currently the British flag "Union Jack" is banned from being flown on any of Her Majesty's Prisons as it may offend other races or religions. What religion preaches crime? The ones I know are peaceful in their retoric. Also if anyone comes here and commits a crime why should that prevent the flag being flown?
All this PC nonsense is fuelling racial disquiet.
