Backlash Against Muslims After 7/7 Exaggerated

Say what? You mean to tell me that all the warnings from the taqiyah masters and useful dhimmi's telling us about the brutal backlash against Muslims after the July 7th Islamic terror attacks was all talk? Too bad, the victim card was working so well :

LONDON (Reuters) - Fears that the country's Muslim community would be become the target of widespread race hate crimes in the aftermath of the July 7 London bombings last year have proved exaggerated, prosecutors said on Monday.

Figures from the Crown Prosecution Service showed that while there had been a blip in attacks against Muslims and Asians after four Muslim extremists detonated bombs on the underground and a bus, there had been no major backlash.

"The fears of a large rise in offences appear to be unfounded," said Director of Public Prosecutions Ken Macdonald.

"Although there were more cases in July 2005 than for any other month, the rise did not continue into August and overall in 2005-2006 there was an increase of nine cases compared to the previous year."

"From the summary case reports sent to me for religiously aggravated offences, we have noted 12 such cases for the month ... after July 7 and in six of those cases the defendants referred specifically to the London bombings," he added in a statement.

In the weeks after the suicide attacks which killed 52 and wounded 700, some Muslim groups had said crimes against Muslims and Asians had risen by as much as 600 percent in the immediate aftermath.

Macdonald said the figures revealed charges for racially aggravated offences rose 28 percent to nearly 7,500 defendants although prosecutors only pursued court cases against 6,123 individuals.

As for religiously aggravated crimes, the increase was 26.5 percent to 43, although only 41 cases actually ended up in a court.

Out of the 43 cases, the actual or perceived religion of the victim was known in only 22 incidences of which over 80 percent were Muslim.

  • The whole 'backlash' notion is an extremely significant part of the Islamist narrative - indeed, it embodies the whole absurd problem, which is the affected supremacy of minority rights and identity politics over our national security. It's been quoted before, but the fabulous joke headline 'Imams fear backlash after tomorrow's train bombing' sums it up, I fear. Kenan Malik did a magiusterial journalistic treatment on the lack of so-called 'Islamophobia' after 9:11, and once again, the story is being repeated: that there is indeed, no significant backlash, even after the most repellent 'peace-time' atrocity on British soil for decades, namely 7:7.

So, how to interpret? Certainly, there is no shortage of anti-Islamic feeling in the country, which to my mind is quite reasonable under the circumstances. People of otherwise impeccable liberal bent have suggested that we should put a moratorium on Islamic immigration, for instance. Our criminally lax security and immigration has assisted Islamism to fester in the last two decades, which many had predicted since the 1980s of Ray Honeyford and Rushdie. The ruling classes and security forces are therefore partly to blame.

It reflects admirably on the British people that faced with a local tentacle of the disgusting global Islamist hydra, that they haven't risen up collectively against it. There hasn't been the smallest of micro-pogroms, much as the anti-British, native-demonising forces of MPAC, MAB, MCB et al would disagree.

But this can only last as long as Islamism remains a minority force. Should it grow much bigger, then it will stop using the sentiment of minority politics and start to seek real power. Look at Lebanon for a vision of that fresh hell.

I hope that Islamism can be rolled back as it is in its infancy in the UK. This means that some government will have to take unpopular steps to maintain Islam as a minority demographic in the UK, before it gets to the situation where the British people have to say, 'It's us or them'.

  • The whole "threat" to Muslim Thing was always talked up...by Muslims.
The first thing our politicians did was visit a mosque to reassure them!

  • The British public has been proven to be one of the most tolerant in the world. And the "british" muslims one of the most anti-western...
